For my second review I have to talk about the Clinique Moisture Surge Gel. This moisturiser is brilliant for people with acne. I have combination skin which can get very oily and dry at the same time but I have found even in the most oily areas on my face such as my T-zone this product can work wonders with with out causing a break out!

Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief Gel
I have searched for years for the right skin routine for acne prone skin as an acne sufferer since I was 11 and have tried practically everything to clear it up without the aid of medication. Clinique make an acne treatment range which is meant to fight break outs and help to clear them up but I have found that sometimes trying to overload your skin with lots of acne clearing products only makes the problem worse. It can dry out your skin and this in turn produces more spots so hydration has to be added to the routine to help replace any moisture lost with the acne clearing products being used. I did try Clinique's acne clearing range but it didn't work for me and therefore I went back to the Clinique Moisture Surge Gel.
Since I found the Clinique Moisture Surge Gel I have noticed a vast improvement in my skin. This moisturiser is not your average greasy white moisturiser which adds to the problem... it is a peach oil free gel like substance which sinks in within two minutes and your skin is left soft, dry to the touch and feeling fresh. There is no greasy residue left behind at all and it is cool when applying it so it helps to take the redness down from angry spots and sooth the skin.

The product is not only oil free... it is also allergy tested and 100% fragrance free for those with sensitive skin like mine. The product acts as a great base for make up in my opinion and also as a day or night time lightweight moisturiser which is very hydrating like a heavy moisturiser. The product lives up to its description which can be seen above in the images and lasts quite a long time too as a little goes a long way. (Mine lasts three to four months).
There is a very faint smell to the gel that disappears almost instantly but nothing of any significance unlike some other brands I have used where the smell has been very strong either like chemicals or perfume and is likely to give even the most tolerant of people a headache.
When the product is used after washing my face and neck with Eucerin Purifyer Cleanser (on an evening), Pears Soap (during the morning) and Garnier Pure 3-in-1 Wash Scrub & Mask instead of the Eucerin Purifyer Cleaner (three times a week on an evening) I find I am able to keep my acne under control.
The Clinique Moisture Surge Gel comes in a 50ml glass jar with a mirrored lid and quite a high price tag of £34. Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone as it has played such a high role in clearing up my breakouts and the amount you receive in the jar for how long it lasts is well worth the money.
